The bar chart demonstrates the percentage of various types of magazines sold by a company in 1975, 1995, and 2015.
Overall, while the lion’s share of selling magazines went to Sports, the opposite was true for Fashion, which witnessed a noticeable drop over the survey timescale.
Starting in 1975, Sports held a leading position, with nearly 32% of the market, and became the most popular type of magazine. However, this figure was followed by Others at 21%. In 1995, Sports experienced a significant increase to approximately 36%, and a similar pattern was also seen in Others magazines (33%). While the rate of Sports eventually went up, the opposite was true for Others, as Others magazines dropped by 5%.
Turning to the remaining types of magazines, in 1975, the figure for Health was higher than Fashion at 26% and 23% respectively, while the proportion of Food was just 10% and became the most uncommon type of magazine. By contrast, the percentage of Food significantly increased to 23% in 1995, while both Fashion and Health experienced a downward trajectory. When the figures for both Food and Fashion went down, the percentage of Health remained unchanged in 2015.
