the graph illustrates the use of social media applications, viz (YouTube, Facebook,Instagram, LinkedIn and twitter) by people in 5 different age groups- 18-24 years, 25-29 years, 30-49 years, 50-64 years and above 65 years.
Overall, youTube is the most followed social media application amog all age groups, followed by Facebook and Instagram,while LinkedIn and twitter faul to pull the crowd with compared to others,Additionally aged people preferred to use more of YouTube and Facebook and less of Instagram LinkedIn and twitter.
More than 80% of individuals in the youngest age bracket used YouTube ,where as LinkedIn is least popular in them at just over 20 percent. Furthermore just over 80% of people used YouTube and Facebook in 25 – 29 age group but their participation decreased on Instagram at around 50 percent and are equal for LinkedIn and twitter at well over 20 percent. Age group of 30-49 years followed a similar trend started slightly over 80 % for YouTube but declined for other applications.
Among 50-64 years and 65 plus age group preferred YouTube and Facebook which accounted for slightly over 60 % and 40%.
