The bar chart compares the proportion of people in five different age groups using social media platforms like Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.
Overall, YouTube and Facebook were the most popular platforms across the age groups, while usage of Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter generally declined with age.
Among people aged 18-24, Youtube was the most popular platform at approximately 94%, followed by Facebook at 80% and Instagram at 70%. Twitter was used around 44% of this group and LinkedIn had the lowest figure, at 25%. Among 25-29 years old, Facebook slightly croseed Youtube, at figures of 81% and 86%, respectively. While, Instagram and LinkedIn recorded 50% and 35%. twitter remained at approximately 45%.
For people ageing 30-49 years old, Youtube continued to be the leading platform at 82%, followed by Facebook at 81%. Instagram and Linkedln slightly decreased at 39% and 31%, while Twitter remained at 25%. Among 50-64-year-olds, YouTube and Facebook remained relatively popular, at about 67% and 64%, whereas Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter were used by approximately 20%, 23% and 18%. Finally, among those aged 65 and over, YouTube and Facebook were each used by around 39%, while Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter had much lower figures of approximately 9%, 8% and 7%, respectively.
