The bar chart illustrates the use of five different types of social media platforms by five distinct age group from 18 years old to over 65 years old. Overall, Youtube recorded the highest percentages of people, while Linkedin showed lowest percentages.
First of all, Youtube and Facebook platforms have the highest figure in the chart. Among 18-24 years old, they stood at about 93% and 80% respectively. In 25-29 group, Youtube showed a lower figures which was 85%, while Facebook recorded a little higher percentages at about 82%. In three other groups, 30-49, 50-64, and 65+ years old, showed relatively close percentages. These were 82% and 78% respectively, around 65% of 50-54 years old and 40% of over 65+ years old.
In addition, the figures were lower in three other platforms Instagram, linkedin and Twitter. Firstly, in 18-24 age group, Instagram was the highest in percentage of 70%, followed by Twitter with 45% and Linkedin 25%. Then, the 25-29 age group showed that instagram still the highest with 56%, and Twitter and Linkedin recorded mostly same percentage of about 37%. In the age groups 50-64 years old and 65 years old onwards presented nearly the same percentages. to be more specific, around 20% for 50-64 age group and 10% for 65 years old and over.
