The line graph below gives information about comparison of four different industries in terms of the amount of acid rain emissions that produced over 17 years in the United Kingdom.
Overall, this measurement is recorded in millions of tonnes, and it is clear that the total amount of acid rain emissions decreased from 1991 to 2007.
In 1991, Electricity, Gas, and Water Supply held the first place in the chart, with emissions standing at about 3 million tonnes. However, this sector experienced the fastest shrinking to reach third place in the chart, which was 0.5 million tonnes. Furthermore, the second position was occupied by other industries, reaching 2 million tonnes of emissions in 1991. The measurement of these industries didn’t change noticeably like the previous one but was around 1 million tonnes after 17 years.
What is more, the next sector is transport and communications, which emitted approximately 0.6 million tonnes of acid rain in 1991. Over the following years, this sector remained relatively stable, with only a slight decrease, reaching around 0.5 million tonnes by 2007. The last one is the domestic sector, which remained steady at around 0.5 million tonnes but experienced a small decline, reaching 0.25 million tonnes in 2007.
