The graph illustrates the amount of people who traveled to Cardiff and Dublin over the period from 2011 to 2020. Overall, the figures for Cardiff visitors recorded fluctuations before increasing significantly whereas the number of Dublin people decreased remarkably initially, followed by periods of growth and decline.
Firstly, in 2011, the number of tourists who prefer Cardiff region rose from approximately 1,5 million people to a peak of just over 2,1 million in 2015. It then fell gradually over the next three years, eventually returning to a similar position in the beginning. After hitting the lowest point of 1,5 million visitors in 2018, Cardiff travelers’ proportion started to grow considerably in 2019, reaching about 3,9 million and continued to increase by an additional 1,6 million people the following year.
In Dublin, there was a sharp decline in the number of tourists from 2011 to 2014, falling from 3,9 million to 2,7 million respectively. Conversely, in 2015 and 2016, this figure experienced a climb to around 3,1 million people. However, it then followed a resemblance downward trend, dropping to 2 million after four years.
