The number of immigrants to Canada experienced a slight growth, while that to Australia witnessed a modest decline between 1991 and 1993. In 1993 the figure for Canada was around 100 thousand more than that for Australia (100 thousand).
During the period from 1994 to 2001, the number of immigrant to the US experienced a sharp fluctuation between 900 to 650 thousand whereas that to Austria witnessed a stability. Canada saw a slight increase in the figure for immigration, reaching its highest point of approximately 400 thousand. However, the figure for the US still was highest, which 700 thousand more than that for Australia.
