The graph above illustrates the growth of traffic from 1950 to 2000 in Netherlands comparing several modes of transportation(cars, trains, bicycle, other public transports)
As we look at the graph, the significant increase or a very drastic change is observed throughout the years in the usage of cars which has been predominant factor resulting in a rapid growth of traffic in Netherlands. From 1950 to 2000, it has peaked from 0 to 150%, being the largest cause of traffic.
On the contrary, The other modes of transportation have definitely affected traffic but considering the predominance use of cars, they seem negligible . For example, the traffic caused of train has increased from 0 to 20%, considering train consists significant number of people than a car. Whereas, the use of bicycle also has effected traffic from 0 to 17%, while other public transports (like buses, vans etc) have little contribution to traffic growth of about 15% overall.
This graph demonstrates how cars are predominant and most commonly used source of transport which causes the most traffic in Netherlands comparing from 1950 to 2000.
