Overall, it can be seen that Mandarin has popularity during this time, while French has shown the opposite trend, however, it still be the most popular language options. By the end of the period, both languages had nearly the same number of students.
In 2000, approximately 150 students selectes French, making it by far the more dominate choice. However, this figure saw a sharp decline over the following five years, falling to around 90 in 2005, then increased sightly about 90 by 2006. After this period, the rate of decrease slowed, and remain stable at about 85.
Conversely, Mandarin started with fewer 10 students in 2000. But in the next five years, this number rose sharply and reached a peak at 75 students in 2005. Since 2005, the number of students learning Mandarin dipped in 2006 and then fluctuated, before it returned to 75.
