The line graph shows how many overseas visitors went to three areas (the coast, the mountains, and the lakes) in a European country from 1987 to 2007. The numbers are in thousands.
Overall, the coast had the most visitors by the end of the period, while the mountains grew slowly. The lakes increased a lot at first but then dropped after 2002.
In 1987, the coast had about 40,000 visitors, which was more than the lakes and mountains, with 10,000 and 20,000 visitors, respectively. The number of visitors to the coast went down a little until 1992 but then increased steadily, reaching around 75,000 in 2007.
The lakes saw a big rise from 10,000 in 1987 to a peak of 75,000 in 2002, making it as popular as the coast at that time. However, after 2002, the number of visitors to the lakes fell sharply to about 50,000 in 2007. Meanwhile, the mountains grew slowly and steadily from 20,000 in 1987 to around 35,000 in 2007.
