The line graph compares three different tourist destinations in a particular European country regarding the number of yearly visits between 1987 and 2007, at 5-year intervals.
Overall, during the period, all figures showed an upward trend, albeit at varying degrees. It is also clear that the coast stood out among others with its constantly higher figures, except in 2002, when the lakes overshadowed it, registering the most noticeable change on the chart. Lastly, despite starting as a runner-up, the figure for the mountains culminated the period in third.
Starting at 40,000 at the beginning, the figure for the coast declined slightly to around 35,000 in 1992. Over the ensuing decade, this figure recovered to 60,000, and this was followed by a further increase to a staggering 75,000.
Next, despite experiencing considerable fluctuations between 20,000 and 30,000, the number of visitors to the mountains rose to 35,000 in the final year. Finally, the lakes gained notable widespread popularity among travelers, improving its yearly visits from just 10,000 to a whopping 75,000 in 2002, but then this figure dropped to exactly 50,000 in 2007.
