The line graph illustrates the number of users accessing news from four sources: TV, radio, newspaper and internet from 1995 to 2025.
It is noticeable that the internet has recorded an upward trend throughout the period, by contrast, remainders have seen a downward trend. However, a drastic rise can be witnessed in the consumption of the internet, with figures eventually surpassing those of TV.
On the one hand, the percentage of people accessing TV, newspaper and radio have fallen between 1990 and 2025. In the beginning, TV reached the highest point through the period, nearly 70%. Over 50% and 58% was seen in the respective amount of radio and newspaper. TV fluctuated about 58% in 2000 and increased slightly to 60%, finally declined continuously to just 50% in 2025. There was a significant decrease in newspapers and radio, achieving the same point 50% in 2000. In 2025, the respective number of users in newspaper and radio will be about 30% and over 20%, respectively.
On the other hand, a sizable ascent was seen in the percentage of the internet. It reached 0% in the first year, and minimally climbed in 2000 to just 2%. A rocket in the next year to 30%, surpassing the number of newspapers and radio in 2020. Finally, the last year, nearly doubled the figures in 2020, approximately 60%, which will be the most popular devices people use to update news in 2025.
