However, during the period, it saw a dramatic decline until 0% in 2000. Another striking change happened in usage of coal, sharing 0% at the beginning of the period but it rocketed and reached its peak at 65% in around 1900. Nevertheless, there was a gradual decrease in the following century.

Furthermore, it can be seen from the graph that people started to make use of oil and gas from 1900. They also experienced a sharp increase, and both stopped at approximately 30%.
