In 2003, the share of cinema visitors stood at 10% on Monday, after which it rose to just below 15% in 2005, before declining to almost 13% in 2007. On Tuesday, the proportion of people in the cinemas decreased from 20% to about 17% over the period. However, 15% of people visited the cinemas in 2003, and fell by almost 8% by 2007.
Moreover, on Thursday, there was a slight drop from about 24% to 13% between 2003 and 2005, which increased to approximately 19% in 2007. In stark contrast, on Friday, the figure for visitors remained unchanged at exactly 30% over the period.
At the weekends, visitors on Saturday experienced a modest rise from 40% in 2003 to 45% in 2005, making it the busiest day. This figure decreased to almost 43% in 2007. Similarly, although the percentages of visitors rose from 30% to 35%, this figure dropped to 33% in 2007.
