The bar chart compares the percentages of people who went to cinemas in a European country on different days of the week in 2003, 2005 and 2007.
Overall, Saturday was the most popular day for cinema attendance in all three years, followed closely by Sunday. By contrast, Monday and Wednesday recorded the lowest proportions. In addition, the figures for Friday remained unchanged throughout the period.
On Monday, approximately 10% of people visited cinemas in 2003, compared to around 15% in 2005 and 12% in 2007. Similarly, the percentage for Tuesday stood at about 20% in 2003, whereas slightly lower figures were recorded in the following years, at roughly 17% and 19% respectively. Wednesday showed a downward trend overall, with the figure falling from nearly 16% in 2003 to only 9% in 2007, making it considerably less popular than most other weekdays.
Regarding the latter part of the week, around 18% of people went to cinemas on Thursday in 2003, while the figure for 2007 was slightly higher, at 20%. Friday remained stable at approximately 30% in all three years. Saturday attracted the highest proportion of cinema-goers, with respective figures of about 42%, 48% and 45% in 2003, 2005 and 2007. Sunday was also highly popular, with the percentages standing at roughly 32%, 38% and 35% respectively, although these figures were nowhere near as high as those for Saturday.
