The line chart provides the information about the varitions in the amount of recycling of different materials such as paper and cardboards, glass containers, aluminium cans and plastics over 28 years of the period i.e. from 1982 to 2010.
Overall, the recycling rate of glass, aluminium and plastics have been increased over the years while the recycling rate of paper and cardboard fluctuated. Additionally, The rate of overall product had drop in 1990.
To begin, There was an increase in the paper and cardboard recycling rate from 65% in 1982 then peaked to 80% in 1994. The graph declined after the peak and ended to 70% in 2010.
However, The rate at which the glass was being recycled had a drop in 1990 at 40%. It started at 50% in 1982 and after the drop it remain to rise gradually till 2010 at 60%. Moreover, Aluminium recycling rate had been increased rapidly from 5% in 1982 to 45% in 2010.Lastly, plastics rates have been in slow increase from 3% to 9% from 1990 to 2010.
In the nut shell, the overall recycling rate was higher in 2010 compared to 1982. However, their individual trends have been different such as glass and aluminium had a notable change and increment whereas plastics had very slow growth and paper, cardboard had many ups and downs.
