Overall, cars have become popular and continue to grow. The amount of CO2 emission was expected to increase significantly in the future.
Firstly, it has been noticeable that cars were most vehicles that were also involved in CO2 emission. because it was the highest one. To begin, there was a gradual rise in the amount of CO2 emission from cars from 20 tons in 2000 to over 25 tons in 2020. Trucks went through and followed a similar trend but it still significantly less with just over 20 tons in 2020. The amount of CO2 emission in Bus and Van is quite low, approximately 9 tons and 15 tons respectively by 2020.
In 2000, there were nearly 20 million vehicles in England and Wales. Then, the number of vehicles grew to 40 million in the following 10 years. By 2020, it rose to roughly 60 million and continued to climb.
