It is clear that women had the greatest rates of cosmetic surgery while these figures were lower in men. In addition, female Koreans were likely to have eyelid surgery conducted and males tended to have hair transplantation.
With regard to Korean women, the largest proportion of prodedures went on eyelid with a figure of 320,000, followed by rhinoplasty with 280,000 procedures. With approximately 210,000 procedures, laser skin resurfacing was the third most prevalent item. Less common types of surgery were breast enlargement and surgery type liposuction with 150,000 and 120,000 cases respectively.
In male counterpart, the most prevalent cosmetic surgery was hair transplantaion which accounted for 60,000 procedures, compared to 58,000 of using laser to resurface the skin, and only 40,000 of rhinoplasty. The procedures in terms of surgery type and abdominnoplasty were the least popular, which were somewhere in the vicinity of 19,000.
