Overall, Canberra had the highest level of water in October 2010. There is an upward trend for Perth, Melbourne and Sydney while the opposite is true for Darwin during the same period. However, Brisbane remained unchanged.
To begin with, there was a near balance between water levels in Canberra and Sydney in October 2019, standing at roughly 80%. Following a year later, Canberra observed a dramatic change, with an increase by roughly 20% comparing to an increase of approximately 5% in Sydney. Despite the gap between the water levels in these cities, they recorded significant higher figures apart from other cities.
Meanwhile, the rate of water levels in Perth and Melbourne followed a more substantial change with the growth in Perth being more pronounced, rising from the water level of 40% in October in 2009 to 70% in a year later. By comparison, the Menlbourne’s rate of water level in October 2010 nearly doubled, from 22% to 40%. In constrast, the corresponding percentages for Darwin experienced a downward trend, falling from 45% in October 2009 to 23% in October 2010.
As an exception, the rate of water level in Brisbane remained stable at 58%.
