Overall, it can be seen that the payments on renting and food are the two most common among the spending sources, while other figures approximately remain unchanged in both countries.
In the UK, rent is the most significant expense, making up 30% of the total spending. Food is the second largest category which accounted for 18%, followed by transport and going out, each standing at 15%.Books and DVDs are the two less considerable which record at 12% and 10% respectively. By contrast, in the US, food is the most significant expenditure, which accounts for one fourth of the total expenses. Rent follows afterwards at 20% which less than 10% compared to the UK figure. Transport and going out remain the same at 15% in the third position in both countries’ spendings. American’s expenditure on books is slightly higher than that of the UK which makes up 15% in total. The least spending in the US is still DVDs which remain unchanged at 10%
