The supplied bar graphs illustrate the information on the proportion of participation by children between the age group of 5 to 14 years in different events (drama, dancing, singing, musical instruments, and sports) in Australia (2003).
Overall, the boy’s participation in playing musical instruments and sports increased, while girls saw a proliferation in dancing only. Drama and singing participation by students remained almost the same for both.
It is conspicuous that for drama and singing activities, boy’s and girl’s participation stood at nearly 5%. In the dancing competition, the girl’s who took part was 25%, whereas, the boy’s who sang were only 3%.
Probing ahead to playing musical instruments, boy’s participation was 5% more than that of girl’s (10%). 70% of the boy’s played sports; however, the girl’s showed a plummet of 18%.
