The line graph below exemplifies the ratio of mathemetics graduates and graduates of other disciplines who obtained full- time job within a given period from 2004 to 2012 in an Australian university. The table illustrates the average salaries of these two groups over the same period.
Overall, in full-time workers, math graduates successively remained at the highest position of degree holders. Besides this, although salaries for both groups rose gradually, salaries of math graduates have increased significantly.
In terms of proportion of degree holders, about 80% of the workers were from mathamatics background , compared to approximatey 65% of them are from all graduates. Both figures soared slightly in 2006, In 2008, math graduates reached to 88% and all graduates reached to 85% roughly, with a slight fluctuations. A gradual declination have observed in both teams. where both dropped to their previous position by 80% and 65% respectively in 2012.
Turning to salaries, both groups started at $41000 in 2004 that rose to $43000 in 2006. However, in next two years, math graduates experienced a dramatic increment that rose to $50000, that reached to $56000 at the end of period. whereas, salary of all graduates grew quite gradually, rose to $45000 in 2008 and $51000 in 2012.
