The pie charts illustrate the main social network sites of British people in the year 2010, and an estimate for 2018.
Overall, Facebook had the highest number of users in 2010 and is expected to increase dramatically by 2018. Twitter, despite a slight decrease, will still continue to be relevant in the future. In contrast with Pinterest, Google Plus, and Bebo, which will decline significantly.
In 2010, Facebook had nearly half of the overall shares. Twitter had around one-fifth of the total userbase, which is nearly double that of Google Plus, which held at 10.42%. Pinterest had just under 17%, while Bebo was the least popular site, with only 8.17%.
In 2018, it is predicted that not only will Facebook stay the most relevant but it will also increase its shares by almost 30%, totaling around 72%. Twitter is expected to remain the second most used site, with only a 1% drop. In contrast, Bebo is predicted to diminish completely in 2018. Pinterest and Google Plus will share the same fate, with a decline of approximately 8% to 10%, totaling up to 7.27% and 2.9%, respectively.
