Overall, the period witnessed an increase in the percentage of drama, comedy and fantasy films in the first year, while the figure of romance films remained unchanged throughout the period. While the ticket sales also saw a growth in drama, humour and imaginary genres in 1996, except for the decline of ticket incomes in love films in the year 2006.
Drama started with 27% in 1996 and rose significantly to 35% 10 years later. Comedy began with 20%, climbed to 25% in 2006. Fantasy films went up modestly from 13% in 1996 to just over 15% a decade later. In contrast, the lowest figure recorded in both years, romance film, stayed relatively balanced at 6%.
Moving on to ticket sale, drama initiated with 15% in 1996, just lower than where it was 1% in 2006. A gap of 5% can be observed in the proportion of comedy films as is stood at 23% in the last year. The most significant change came from the figure of romance films, as the figure in 1996 outnumbered the stats in 2006 about 3%.
