Overall, the services sector saw a significant rise. Additionally, this sector had the highest employee percentage among the five industries, while the construction and mining fields showed a minimal increase. In contrast, manufacturing and agriculture experienced a substantial decrease.
In 1962, the services sector workforce stood at around 52%. This employee ratio considerably increased throughout the period, reaching a peak of just below 80%. On the other hand, from 1962 to 1972, the average proportion of the workforce in manufacturing industries was approximately 25%. From 1972 to 2012, this proportion dramatically fell to 10%. Similarly, the agriculture sector showed a downward trend. Initially, they had 10% of the workforce; however, then the ratio gradually decreased to less than 10%.
In the case of mining sector, there is no significant change in the employees. They stayed less than 10% over the period. There were just under 10% of employees in the construction industry in 1962. Afterwards, a minimal rise can be seen in 2012 and reached at around 10%.
