The two maps illustrate how an island changed following the construction of several tourist facilities.
Overall, the island was transformed from a largely undeveloped area into a tourist destination with accommodation, a restaurant, transport facilities and a network of paths, while most of the natural features, particularly the trees, were preserved.
Before the development, the island was relatively untouched. There was only a beach on the western side and several groups of palm trees located in the centre and the eastern part of the island. No buildings, roads or other facilities were present.
After the construction project, a number of tourist amenities were added. A reception building was built in the centre of the island, with a restaurant situated just to the north. Two clusters of accommodation huts were constructed around these central facilities, one to the west and the other to the east. Footpaths were laid to connect the huts with the reception and restaurant.
In addition, a vehicle track was introduced, linking the reception area to the southern coast, where a pier was built to allow boats to access the island. Although the western beach remained in its original location, it was designated as a swimming area. Meanwhile, most of the trees in the eastern and central parts of the island were left unchanged.
