The images illustrate the layout of the city called Lakeside over a span of 9 years, starting from 2000.
From an overall perspective, the city was transformed from an underdeveloped industrial complex into a developed area. Comparing two maps, Lakeside has become a good place with lots of facilities.
Looking at the map in detail, an art center was situated in the west, flanked by two residential areas – one in its north and the other one in its south. The northern part of the city housed a derelict warehouse, while the southern area was occupied by the old town. Positioned centrally within the city was a school. Moreover, there was a river running from south to east, with a lake on its northern mouth.
After a nine-year period, the town underwent a complete makeover. The old town was knocked down to build offices and a university. A new parking area was built where the old warehouse used to be. A number of important changes, the residential area in the south was demolished to enlarge the industrial complex. Although the direlic werehouses were converted into a car park, the northern residential area and the school remained unchanged. Eventually, the lake diminished considerably, transforming into a pond.
