The propotion of female members of parliament in Germany and Italy were alway higher than the three other countries. However, the percentage of female members of parliament in Italy tended to rise significantly from around 27% in 2000 to under 40% in 2012, while this figure in Germany grow slightly about 2% from 45% to 47% in this period.
In 2000, around 3% parliament members was female in UK, while in Belgium, this figure was around 17%. After 12 years, the propotion of female members of parliament in UK climbed sharply about 20% from 3% in 2000 to 23% in 2012 and this figure in Belgium also rose but minimally from 17% to 23%.
