During this upward trend, the figure for Asia overtook other regions, such as the UK and Asia at about 1986 and 1991, respectively. By contrast, percentage of the UK was the highest point at slightly less than 15% in 1976, before decline dramatically to 5% in 2011.
On the other hand, the figure for other countries experienced both downward and upward trends over the period. That of other regions decreased steadily from approximately 11% to 8% between 1976 and 1986, respectively. Following that, other regions climbed steadily with some fluctuation and ended at nearly 13% in 2011.
