The presented line graph provides proportion of the population in four Asian countries from 1970 to 2023, with predictions for 2030 and 2040.

Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that inhabitants of all the countries rose gradually throughout the period. In 1970, the most populous was Philippines while the least populated was Indonesia. However, by the end of the period, highest point was observed in Malaysia whereas lowest point was Thailand.

Now, turning to the details, in 1970, Philippines and Malaysia were almost at the same highest point and accounted for around 30 percent of the total while at the same time Thailand and Indonesia were both constitute about 17 percent. In 1980, all the figures experienced moderate increase and simillar trend as the former one. After that, in 1990, population in Philippines increased sharply to almost 50%, becoming temporary leader. In 2000, for instanse, Indonesia and Malaysia showed quick upward , the opposite trend were for others.

In 2010, Malaysia became the undisputed leader at 70%. Following that, in 2020, the figures for Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand stood at roughly 75%, 50%, 44% and 30%, respectively. In subsequent years, all the countries experienced a steady growth, while maintaining the same ranking.
