The line graph illustrates average attendance at the cinema among different age groups in the United States from 2000 to 2011.
Overall, there was an increase in cinema popularity among all age groups although mainly teens and people in their early 20s visited cinema. People aged 35 and over attended cinema the least.
In the beginning of the period less than 20% of people among all age groups went to the cinema, with two categories below 5%, 10% and around 17% with 35 or older, 7-14 and 15-24, respectively. After a few years, there was a gradual rise in visit frequency for teenagers and young adults, but other two groups remained relatively the same.
Later there was a moderate fluctuation and in 2008, there were just below 20% of 25-35 aged individuals who attended cinema, around 25% of youngsters and approximately 38% of 15-24 year olds. By the end of the period, there was a significant difference since there were now above 50% of teens and adolescents that visited the cinema, around 13% of those aged 35 and more, and 30% for both 7 to 14 year olds and 25 to 35.
