The line chart depicts the percentage of employment in different areas of work from 1975 to 2025.
Overall, it is evident that most of the people were engaged in work in agriculture sector in the 20th century, and less in manufacturing and services. But as the years passed and due to the development people slightly switched to such sectors as manufacturing and services with most people working in the services sector in the future.
From 1975-1980, 80 million people in the USA were working in agriculture sector, while only a few in manufacturing and services. Trends started to change from 1977 as agriculture sector experienced a decrease in number of employees which diminished twice in 1980. In contrast, the number of employees in other two sectors increased rapidly and amounted to 40 million workers each.
From 1980-2025, the sectors saw the opposite trend, as the number of workers engaged in manufacturing and agriculture will diminish in the future with only 10 million workers in each sector. At the same time most of the workers in the future will be engaged in services sector with 90 million people working there.
