The line chart presented demonstrates the change of preference in the consummation of fast food by Australian teenagers over the years from 1990 to 2020. It is evident that French Fries were the preferred food in the late 20th Century, in became the least preferable food in 2020. In contrast, the choice of having Pizza and Hamburgers increased over the years, slowly becoming the most popular fast food.
In 1990, French Fries were eaten 70 times on average, while Hamburgers were only consumed only ten times on average and Pizza five times. The occasions where Pizza and French Fries were eaten increased steadily throughout the years, increasing from 10 and 5 times respectively a decade from the 21st Century, to 90 and 80 times two decades entering the 21st Century. On the contrary, the mean occurrences where French Fries were eaten experienced a gradual decline, from 70 times in 1990 to almost none in 2020
An interesting point in time to be noted is in 2005, where the preferred fast food was similar, having a little over 40 times each being consumed by the countries’ adolescents.
