The graph illustrates the shift in consumption of different types of fast food by teenagers in Australia from 1990 to 2020.
Overall, a general trend of pizza and hamburger popularity is rising steadily throughout the years, with both lines being approximately the same. In contrast, the consumption of French fries is shown to be drastically falling overtime.
Hamburgers line is the steadiest one, demonstrating gradual growth from as low as 10 in 1990 to 90 in 2020, ending up as the most popular fast food among Australian teenagers. In fact, no fallings or hitches whatsoever are reflected on the graph.
Similarly, the pizza graph is shown to be rising, though not as steadily. A noticeable burst of popularity seems to happen from 2000 to 2010, elevating from 30 to 70 just in 10 years. However, after that the line remains unchanged for 5 years, signifying a stagnation. After that, the growth returns to normal, finishing at the number of 80, just 10 below hamburgers.
French fries graph, on the other hand, has been declining dramatically since 1990, and dropping from being the most popular to least popular fastfood among teenagers. Starting from 70 in 1990, French fries’ line has fallen to 20 in 2015, and after that proceeded to lower even more, reaching just below 10 by 2020.
