Overall, the intake of hamburgers and pizza increased significantly over the years, and Hamburgers were the most eaten by the end of 2020. The consumption of French fries, on the other hand, decreased notably in the following years.
In the year 1990, Hamburgers and pizza were least preferred by Australian teenagers. While hamburgers were consumed 10 times, the number for pizza consumption was half of it. In the following years, the popularity of hamburgers increased considerably, the orders for hamburgers by teenagers increased nine-fold in 2020. Although the intake of pizza was rising, there were few fluctuations. From 1990 to 2000, teenagers went from ordering pizza 5 times to 30 times. In the next ten years, it experienced positive growth, where the orders increased four-fold. Till 2015, the pizza intake remained constant. But, in the next five years, the figures increased 10 times more.
In contrast, french fries were the most eaten by teenagers during the onset period. But, the popularity decreased rapidly from consuming it 70 times to 5 times by the end of 2020. This trend was opposite to that of hamburgers.
