The line graph illustrates the changes in the technique of five types of business communication in New Stratford between 1980 and 2005.
Overall, it is clear that Letter and Landline phone steadily declined, while Cell phone, E-mail, and Other Internet showed an increased trend over the period.
As can be seen from the chart, Landline phone and Letter were the most popular type of business communication, at around 25 million and 18 million users respectively at the beginning of the period. Landline phone usage continued to increase, reaching a peak of 35 million in 1990, before declining to 25 million users in 1995. Following this point, it dropped to 23 million users by 2005. However, Letter showed the fluctuation at the same period. After a slight rise to around 22 million users in 1985, Letter dropped to a near low level (3 million users) in 1995, and this plummet until 2005.
Meanwhile, E-mail và Cell phone and Other Internet communications rose rapidly, from the beginning at negligible levels, these figure climbed to 8 million, 7 million and 5 million users respectively. After this period, Cell phone and E-mail experienced a dramatic rise to the end of the period, coinciding with the peak of both Letter and Landline phone communications. Other Internet also increase gradually at 7 million by the end of the period.
