The line chart gives the information about how four UK football clubs spent their money on footballers from 1995 to 2015.
Overall, expenses on football players of only three teams increased by 2015. Over the period the dominant spender was Manchester United, and Manchester City started the period in the lowest position.
At the beginning of the period, Manchester United and Liverpool’s expenditures was the same nearly 30 millions of pounds. In the next 15 years, their spendings steadily grew and reached nearly 100 and just over 80 millions of pounds, respectively. From 2010, both teams experienced significant rise, and by 2015 those expenses achieved 160 and nearly 140 millions, respectively.
On the other hand, Manchester City had the lowest expense of about 10 million pounds in 1995, and it kept the same position in the next decade. From 2005, Manchester City’s spending rose, and in the next half decade, it dramatically increased and reached 100 million pounds. By 2015 it climbed to their highest position of nearly 130 millions of pounds. Finally, while other three teams showed a dramatic growth, Arsenal’s expenditure remained relatively stable of nearly 20 millions.
