The line graph gives information about the number of visitors (in millions) who were abroad in different three countries from 1990 to 2020.
Overall, number of tourists of the France and Spain experienced an upward trajectory over the period, while the number of tourists in Japan experienced a decrease.
In 1990, number of tourists in France and Spain were approximately 45% and 30% , respectively. Spain’s tourists increased drastically throughout the period, exceeding Japan’s tourists between 2000 and 2005 and reaching 75 millions in the end of the period. In the meantime the number of tourists in the France increased steadily to 60 millions in 2005, and then rapid surged to 70 millions in 2010 ,during 2010-2015 it continued with a slight increase to just over 80%.
In early 1990, the number of tourists of Japan (40 millions) was the second among these three countries. However, it dramatically declined to well under 40 millions in 2020. As a result Japan’s number of tourists was the lowest in the end of the period.
