The line graph illustrates changes in the quantity of oil production and its consumption in China from 1982 to 2006 which calculated in million barrels per day.
Overall, both consumption and production rates increased over time, especially in oil consumption.
In 1982, China’s oil production and consumption was very low, it was only around 2 million barrel. Interestingly, oil production rate in this country rose by 1 million barrels by 1986 and remained stable until 1994. On the other hand, although oil consumption was stable until 1990, it experienced a moderate rise by 1994, reaching to 3 million barrels.
After 1994, both oil production and consumption in China saw different trends. Oil consumption by 1998 witnessed a significant increase, raising to 4 million barrels, while the production only reached around 3.4 million barrels in this year. By 2006, oil production remained stable, acounting for only 3.5 million barrels, and oil consumption continued to rocket and reaching over 6 million barrels in this year.
