The line graph below compares production and consumption of oil in China from 1982 to 2006.
Overall, it is clear that although the oil used in first eight years was stable, it showed a significant rise in next 15 years to outscale the level of oil production which present slight increase over the mentioned period.
In 1981, Chinese were producing a bit higher than which they consumed, however, this gab getting bigger in following 8 years with almost one million barrels per day difference. Since 1990, oil consumption start increasing and jump to level of over 3 million to exceed the level of oil’s manufacturing.
By beginning of 21st century, this trend not change much which China continue in increasing their usage of oil to hit the amount of more than 6 million barrels per day by 2006. On the other hand, there was not much improvement in terms of oil industry which remained stable with almost half amount of consumed one.
