The given graph illustrates the percentage of Africa’s civilian who subscribing to mobile and fixed-line phones since 1994 to 2004. Overall, the percentages of fixed-line phones users increasing steadily and slowly meanwhile the mobile phone users increasing significantly starts since 1999.
In 1994, 1.7 telephone subscribers per 100 inhabitants were used the fixed-line phones and it is increasing about 1.4% until 2004 (3.1%). In contrast, 0.06% users were the mobile phone users in 1994 and raised steadily until 1999. After 1999, mobile phones increased significantly and became more preferred than the fixed-line phones. It is increased approximately 8.74% since 1994 and reached 8.8 users per 100 african civilian in 2004.
In summary, at Africa, the fixed-line phones was more popular than the mobile phones in 1994. However, starts from 2000, there were turning points where the mobile phones users increased sharply and became more widely preferred than the fixed-line phone.
