In general, the production of paper & packaging showed bigger figures compared to other categories. Starting at 230 million tons in 1980, the amount of paper & packaging increased gradually to 250 million tons in 1990. The production of paper & packaging rose sharply to reach a peak of 350 million tons in the final year.
In contrast, the production sawn-wood and wood pulp exhibited different changes. The amount of sawn-wood started at 200 million tons, a figure that then declined significantly to 130 million tons in the final year. As far as the production of wood pulp is concerned, it stood at 170 million tons in 1980. After steady fall to 150 million tons in 1990, the production of wood pulp increased gradually to 160 million tons in the final year.
