The chart above conveyed the rate of smokers per 1000 people in Canada between the year 1950 to 2000. The graph displayed the analysis of both men and women smokers.
Overall, the number of men smokers gradually decreased whilst in terms of women smokers, it had a significant increase.
The graph shows how the number of men smokers had decreased 40%, during the year 1970 to 2000, leaving it to only 200 smokers in the year 2000. However, the number of women smokers doubled only in the span of 50 years, particularly in the year 1970 to 1980, where it had remarkable increase of 100 smokers in 10 years.
Eventhough, in terms of women smokers, after having a sharp increase between 1950 to 1980, the number of smokers remained stable on 200 smokers after 1980. In contrast, men smokers starting from 1970, the figures had rapidly declined, where in this case, it showed the loss of 5 men smokers each year.
