The line graph illustrates the average number of people visiting a museum in the United Kingdom during the summer and winter of 2003.
Overall, it is clear that the museum attracted significantly more visitors in the summer compared to the winter. While the summer period experienced a sharp rise followed by a gradual fall, the winter season showed a relatively stable but much lower trend throughout the day.
In summer, the number of visitors started at nearly zero at 9:00 a.m. and then grew dramatically, reaching a peak of about 1,500 at 11:30 a.m. After this point, the figure began to decline steadily, falling to approximately 800 by 4:00 p.m. and finally returning to zero at 6:00 p.m.
By contrast, winter recorded much smaller numbers. The museum welcomed only around 200 people at 9:00 a.m. and the figures fluctuated slightly between 200 and 600 until 1:30 p.m. However, after that, attendance dropped sharply, reaching almost zero by 2:30 p.m., and remained negligible until closing time.
