Around the year 2000, people started loving poutine as well and the per week consumption of french fries and poutine came to the same level ( between 140 grams – 155 grams per week). From 2000 to 2005, the period of french fries increased significantly from 140 grams to 250 grams for 5 years. From 2005 to 2010, it remained slightly growth to 300 grams per week per person.
On the other hand, in 2000, the poutine intake was started noticebaly higher than french fries around 10 grams to 50 grams from 2000 to 2005. Poutine remained high in demand from 2005 to 2010 and reached its highest value of 350 grams per week in 2010. After 1995, people started loving poutine more than fries and this overcame the consumption of the fries.
