The line graph illustrates the percentages of Australian exports to four countries: Japan, US, China, and India, over a period of 22 years from 1990 to 2012. Overall, it seems that Japan was the highest at the beginning among other countries, while China was the lowest. Not so far, China had a come back to be the highest at the end.
To begin with, Japan’s figure was approximately at 27 percent in 1990, then had a slow decline approaching around 20 percent in 1995, the decline rate had been decelerating until 2012, reaching 17 percent. In addition, US’s figure was about 11 percent in 1990, and had a gradual fluctuation, reaching a low of roughly 7 percent in 1995, a peak of just above 11 percent in 2000, followed by a minor decrease approaching 6 percent in 2012.
In 1990, China’s and India’s figures were approximately 1 percent and 2 percent, respectively. Thus, China’s figure had been slowly increasing reaching around 11 percent in 2005. Compared to India, its figure remained at the same level until 2000, it had a gradual rise reaching exactly 5 percent in 2005. Afterwards, China’s rate significantly jumped approaching 28 percent in 2012, while India’s rate had a minor rise reaching a peak of 7 percent in 2010, then a gradual decline reaching the same as before; 5 percent in 2012.
