The charts illustrates the data regarding a public library which lies in a town known as Little Chalfont.
Overall, adults in the age range (18-64) cover the largest number of library members in 2016, while the young adults in the age range (13-17) and the elderly people (65 and over) are least involved. There is a gradual increase in the total number of loans from 2007 to 2016. The children’s fiction and the adult fiction cover an equal and highest part of the total loan during 2016.
According to the information given, the adults in the age-group 18 to 64 share a significant portion of library membership. Meanwhile, the young adults (13-17) and the elderly people above 65 years of age share relatively similar percentages, 12% and 15%. Other than that, the children share the second highest number which is 22% covering the total membership.
Moreover, the total number of loans over a decade has a steady increase with a minor fall at 2013. The figure is lowest in 2007 with number of 15,000 loans . After this, loan amount rose gradually and levelled off for two years from 2008 to 2009. There is another slow upward movement noticed here. After staying almost above 20,000 rate for two years the figure dipped slightly in 2013, reaching approximately 20,000. Here,the trend slightly improved for the next 3 years. The children’s fiction and the adult fiction share same level of 38% of the total loans category in 2016. Children non-fiction, children’s DVDs, young adults, adult non-fiction, and adult audio books share considerable lower portion that is 6%, 1%, 2%, 13%, 2% respectively.
