Provided is the map giving information about the two proposed sites (S1+S2) for the construction of a new supermarket in a town called Garlsdon. Overall, it is apparent that the main difference between the two sites is that S1 is outside the town, whereas S2 is in the town centre. Additionally, both supermarket sites are close to the railway and relatively near a main road.
As can be seen, the former site is located in the countryside of the town of Garlsdon and off the mainroad to the town of Hindon which lies 12 km to the North-west. Moreover, it is noticeable that the site is easily accessible as it can be approached by different modes of transport, namely railway and main roads.
On the other hand, the latter is proposed to be in Garlsdon town centre, which is surrounded by industry. There is a railway running across Garlsdon, linking the North-west and the South-east, which makes it possible for the local people from the town of Cransdon with a population of 29,000 to travel to this site by train. Similarly, it could also be reached by road from the town of Bransdon, 15 km to the South-west. Because of its central location, parking could be a problem in S2.
