In 1950, the beachfront area was completely different from its current state. The northern side of the area was filled with many buildings, including a pavilion, a car park and a children’s playground which occupied a large part of the site. From the car park, people could go directly to the city by road. The southeastern part of the territory was occupied by the lighthouse, just beside the beach. The beach and pool were positioned in the southern part.
Currently, the Beachfront area is designed especially for recreational purposes after adding some facilities. A new restaurant and surf club have been added to the western side of the area, just by the pool. Another noticeable change is that the car park is doubled, but this change comes at the cost of the playground. The swimming pool expanded from 25m to 50m.
