The two maps illustrate the changes that have taken place in an American city since 1954.
Overall, it is clear from the diagram that the city has changed considerably with the introduction of modernization. The most significant changes are that the city has its own airport and stadium to attract tourists and commercial buildings for economic’s raising, though the southeastern and northwestern parts remained unchanged.
To begin, the factory has been demolished for the purpose of constructing an airport, which is one of the most striking changes. Another notable change is that the holiday park and residental houses have been knocked down in order to erect business buildings for increasing commercial perspectives. An interesting development in entertainment is a stadium appearing on the southwestern part of the map.
Next, the local supermarket has been replaced from the west side to centre and now is located near commercial buildings. Furthermore, the residental houses on the south-eastern part and the police station on the northwestern part did not witnessed any alterations. The same situation is true for trees. The trees, which were scattered around the city, have been left untouched.
